The Reading Bible

Privacy Policy

The Reading Bible is a free Bible reader at thereadingbible.org. This page explains what information is collected when you use it.

The Short Version

  • You don’t need an account to read.
  • I don’t sell your information.
  • I don’t currently run tracking tools.

What Stays On Your Device

The reader saves your place so you can continue where you left off. It saves your book and chapter, your chosen translation, and your verse-number setting. This is stored in your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent to me. To remove it, clear your browser’s site data for thereadingbible.org.

Outside Services That Load The Site

When you read a chapter, your browser asks other services for the Bible text and the fonts. These services may see your IP address, your browser type, and which chapter you asked for. I don’t control how they handle that information, so please see their own policies.

  • bible-api.com (Bible text)
  • bible.helloao.org, the Free Use Bible API (Bible text)
  • Google Fonts (the site’s typefaces)

Web Host Information

My web host, Hostinger, keeps standard server records, such as IP addresses, browser types, and pages requested. These are used to keep the site secure and running. I do not use them to identify individual readers.

If You Contact Me

If you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, and message. I use them only to reply to you. I don’t share or sell them. I keep them only as long as needed to handle your message.

Cookies

I don’t use tracking cookies. The site software may use basic cookies that the site needs to work.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your Choices

You can clear your saved place at any time by clearing your browser data. If privacy laws where you live give you other rights, contact me and I will do my best to help.

Changes

I may update this page. When I do, I will change the date at the bottom.
